I havent tried stall detection yet though. With the LR2, there are a couple things to watch out for before you ruin your CNC, as it’s not designed for sensorless homing (or homing in general) The firmware is already configured for Sensorless Homing, the only thing you need to do is make sure to run a jumper wire, one for the X axis and one for the Y axis from the DIAG pin to PC0 (for X) or PC1 (for Y) as shown in this diagram. Some TMC stepper drivers can detect when they bump into something that causes them to stop moving. This feature is so sensitive that it can actually take the place of traditional endstops. Use this command to set the bump sensitivity for the X, Y, and Z stepper drivers. Sensorless Homing work well for X,Y and Y2, but I can't get it to work on Z. I've tried allmost every settings of sensitivity, current, and speed. I've tried to switch motor and driver with no luck. When doing sensorless endstops, it reduces the sensitivity only while homing on the affected driver, so you’ll need to make sure that works with X2 and Y2. Marlin hasn’t been great in the past at being right when you combine corner cases like that, but sensorless homing and dual endstops have been out long enough, maybe it will work.

(FWIW, I have sensorless homing working on two printers, both with TMC2209s, one with an SKR v.13 & the other an SKR Pro) 1 The driver diag pin is used for sensorless homing and stall detection. The SKR v1.4 does not have a way of disabling the diag pin.

Sensorless homing is not currently as accurate as mechanical end stops. All the pre-compiled firmware has this disabled so you will need to bend the pins out of the way. Bend this pin on each driver to allow mechanical switches to be used on the SKR board.

Just ordered a skr 1.3 board for both my printer and the CNC. I am using skr 1.3, installed on cartesian Great Robin and AM8 work flawlessly, but on Core XY get problem. Someone says CoreXY when homing the stallguard  (Just no sensorless-homing function).

I'm trying to set up sensorless homing for a SKR mini E3 V1.2. I've added the jumper wires from the DIAG pins to PC0 & PC1. But whatever X_STALL_SENSITIVITY I set doesn't change anything (Homing appear to happen straight away without any movement (But it does move back and forward 5mm thanks to my bump setting?) I've tried 0 to 255 with no luck From the documentation, the value for max sensitivity for the TMC5160 is -64. If your motors are grinding, stallguard needs to be more sensitive, hence a lower value.

If I remember correctl the hybrid threshold is set to 0 during (sensorless) homing anyway. I don‘t think it is the SKRs fault, since sensorless homing works just fine using the Bigtreetech TMC2209. My guess would a (design) problem on the Fysetc drivers.

You don’t want this too high or it’ll home right in the middle. So this is one of those settings you’ll have to play around with to get just right.
